Wholesale IT
§01

Technology that handles wholesale complexity

The brief

Wholesale operations are complex. Thousands of SKUs, tiered pricing structures, multiple warehouse locations, and customer-specific terms and conditions. Your IT infrastructure needs to manage this complexity while remaining fast and reliable.

Most managed IT providers can install Microsoft 365 and keep the email running. We configure IT around the way wholesale actually works: an ERP that handles complex pricing and inventory without falling over at month-end, a B2B portal customers can self-serve through, EDI links that do not silently fail, and mobile access that gives your sales team the right numbers in front of a customer.

EDI links that do not silently fail, caught by us rather than a customer.
Obligations & standards
§02

The rules NZ wholesale businesses work under

In scope

Privacy Act 2020. Applies to every Australian business that handles personal information, and a wholesaler holds plenty of it: trade-account contacts, credit applications, buyer details, and staff records. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner expects notification of a notifiable privacy breach without undue delay. That makes access control, encrypted backup, and a workable breach-response plan part of normal operations.

PCI DSS. Wherever you take card payments, whether through a B2B eCommerce portal, over a counter, or by phone, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard applies. The practical effect is that card data must be segmented away from the rest of your network and handled securely, never sitting on general-purpose systems. We scope networks and online channels so payment flows sit behind appropriate controls.

Data integrity and availability. Wholesale runs on the accuracy of pricing, contract terms, and stock data, and on systems that stay up during ordering peaks. Data integrity and uptime are commercial obligations to your customers and are often written into trading and EDI agreements. We treat them as design constraints: validated integrations, change control on the systems of record, and recovery targets that match how long your business can actually be offline.

How we support wholesalers

The services
An honest word on investment

The best version of this page is a choice.

Outcomes follow investment

Everything described here is real and achievable, for businesses that choose to align to the best standard and invest in it. With full investment, we can promise outcomes. With half the investment, we can promise half the outcomes. Neither is wrong. Invest at the level that fits your business, a little or a lot, and we'll align the solution honestly to that level. Four things usually set the dial:

01
Uptime
How much downtime can the business actually carry? Minutes, hours or days changes the architecture, and the investment.
02
Recovery
When something fails, how fast must you be back, and how much data can you afford to lose? Faster and less both cost more.
03
Alignment
How closely do you align to standards like the Essential Eight and ISO 27001? Each maturity level is a step up in evidence, and effort.
04
Sovereignty
Where must your data live? Onshore, sovereign hosting is there when it's required, priced plainly.

We'll tell you plainly what each level buys, and what it doesn't. That conversation is the first thing the 90-minute session settles.

Let's talk about
your wholesale IT.

Every wholesale operation is different. We map your ERP, B2B channels, EDI links, warehouses, and field team, and show you where you stand.
