About Belton
§01

General

Who we are

Belton is a specialist managed IT and security practice. In plain terms, we become your IT department, running your environment day to day, defending it with security you can actually verify, and advising on where technology genuinely moves your business forward. We frame it as run, protect and improve, delivered by senior engineers who own the outcome rather than a ticket queue.

We're a New Zealand firm, founded in Auckland in 2004, and we support organisations across both New Zealand and Australia. Most of our work is cloud and remote-first, so distance rarely matters, and we attend on-site where it counts in our core regions.

We're a 40-person practice, privately owned and independent since 2004, supporting 469 organisations. That's big enough to carry genuine depth across Microsoft, security and infrastructure, and close enough that you're a name we know, not a number in a queue.

Senior engineers who know your environment, not an offshore call centre or a rotating triage script. The person who picks up understands your business and owns the issue until it's resolved. That accountability is the whole point of working with a specialist practice.

Security

On the record

Yes. We run 24/7 SOC capability, monitoring and after-hours cover for managed clients, so threats are detected and responded to around the clock, not just between nine and five. Attackers don't keep office hours, so neither does your protection.

We align controls to the Essential Eight and to ISO standards, and as a Microsoft Solutions Partner we build on the security depth of the Microsoft platform. The aim is practical, evidenced security mapped to recognised frameworks, not a badge on a website.

Yes. We keep audit-ready evidence of your controls, so your security can stand up in front of a board, a cyber insurer, or a buyer during due diligence. If you can't show it, you can't rely on it. Proof is part of what you're paying for.

A backup only counts if it restores. We run tested, restorable backups and verify recovery on a schedule, so the day you actually need them isn't the day you discover they were never working. Resilience is something we prove, not assume.

Pricing & contracts

No surprises

Pricing is scoped to your specific environment: the number of people, devices and sites, and the level of security and support you need. We map what you actually have, then give you a fixed, transparent quote up front. No surprise invoices, and no fabricated figures. We scope first, then price.

Any onboarding or transition work is scoped and quoted before it starts, so there are no hidden setup charges appearing later. You'll see what's included and what it costs in advance, and you decide before we proceed.

We earn the relationship rather than trap it. Our average client tenure runs well beyond ten years because the work is good, not because of punitive contracts. We'll talk you through the terms plainly, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before you sign.

That depends on the scope we agree, but a managed engagement typically covers day-to-day support, monitoring, security controls, backup and recovery, and ongoing advisory. We set it out explicitly so there's no ambiguity about what's covered, and what isn't.

Getting started

No obligation

It's a focused 90-minute, no-obligation conversation. We map your environment, name the real risks in plain language, and give you the truth about where you stand, whether or not you ever work with us. No sales pitch, no obligation, just a clearer picture of your IT and security.

It varies with the size and state of your environment, but we run a structured transition so it's predictable, not chaotic. We'll give you a clear timeline up front and keep you informed at every step, so you always know what's happening and when.

Yes. Moving from an incumbent provider is a routine part of what we do. We handle the handover methodically, take real ownership of your environment, and aim to make the change feel like a relief rather than a risk.

Yes. The discovery and security session is genuinely free, with no obligation and no catch. Worst case, you walk away with an honest read on your IT and security. Best case, it's the start of a long relationship.

Still have
a question?

Ask us anything. We'll give you a straight answer from a senior engineer, or book a 90-minute discovery & security session and we'll show you where you actually stand.
